What is Permaculture?
I made a painting once and on it wrote, "We want Sages to save us." It was my momentary coming of age inspiration in a world where there are no sages, there is just us. As Permaculturalists, we will save the world - rather, we will create the conditions that allow the World to save us. If only humanity will open up and realize - that we have not been kicked out of the Garden, that it's everywhere, and that given what we have done to it over the last few hundred years, it just needs a little tending to. Permaculture is a system for tending the land and so much more. Permaculture elders are the unsung heros of our time. They are the land's experimenters, the teachers, the holders of the lessons that we industrial-poisoned humans need to save us, from ourselves.
