Agritourism in The United States of America
After years of declining numbers of small farms throughout the United States, the numbers are slowing beginning to rise again! Small organic farms, permaculture homesteads, young couples and retirees can now be seen dotting America's countryside, reclaiming the land (even amidst the GMO boom). Help support these wonderful entrepreneurs charting the course for a sustainable future.

Seed Trust: Seed School
"Seed School is an innovative 5-day school designed to help participants create new regional and sustainable seed production and distribution systems. The workshop trains gardeners, farmers, seed savers, entrepreneurs, NGOs, policy makers and anyone interested in turning the tide on the industrialization of our food and agriculture.
Many growers are still purchasing one-size-fits-all seed every year. They could (and should!) be saving seeds they grow selected for the qualities and characteristics that work best for them. Those seeds get planted the following year increasing regional adaptability and true sustainability. This is diversity at its best. And we all know the saying: The strength of any ecosystem is a function of its diversity.
Classroom time in this permaculture inspired program ranges from an introduction to genetics to modern database management (for those wishing to start a seed business or add a seed component to an existing organization). It is balanced with hands-on activities including harvesting, processing, germination testing and packaging seeds. Special guest presenters from permaculture and the seed industry as well as field trips round out your Seed School experience. Seed School takes place in the gorgeous Verde Valley in Arizona and on-location."

Contact 63rd Street Farm | What Makes Us GreenOur farm is Certified Naturally Grown. We like to think beyond being organic & work with the problems making only solutions. The farm is becoming a no till farm (this has taken some time to get to this point) which will increase our soil nutrients as well as our yields of vegetables.
Being Community oriented makes us think of the needs of our community first. Everyone needs to eat! As our members sign up for their share for the season we also inform them that if they happen to miss a pick up we will donate their food to a good cause, this past year we donated over 640lbs of fresh produce to EFAA. The Stone business is unique in the way that once you build with stone you should never have to build it again. This saves the earth in many ways not having to rebuild over and over again. We think a Backyard Agrarian is...We invite you to come see why we enjoy the Agrotourism part of our farm. There are classes to take, tours for the kids, & veggies to eat, and a place to spend the night!
