Same storage capacity, different shape. These reused pasta sauce jars are simply perfect for storing coffee beans, peanuts, raisins, corn meal, kasha or pickled hot peppers. The larger mouth makes filling them a cinch. Directions: Treat yourself to a simple meal of pasta and sauce. Even better, make it homemade pasta and add some fresh veggies! Affix the blank TareWare sticker to your favorite jars or food storage containers and simply write in the container weight! Totally customizable! Screw top wine bottles are really awesome. They keep the wine fresh with no chance of a rotten cork spoilage and can be washed and reused. We love wine bottle TareWare for pourables like organic olive oil, rosemary infused vinegar, and bulk tamari. So many great options! Keep a few for bulk emergencies!

During Backyard Agrarian's 30-day adventure without packaged food, we realized there was an unmet need for reusable, nontoxic containers that were clearly labelled with the Tare (Container) Weight. When your diet consists of unpackaged foods, that means you do a lot of your shopping in the bulk and produce sections of your local natural grocery store. Instead of using plastic bags, TareWare allows you to easily reuse containers for all of your bulk shopping needs: Oils, Beans, Rice, Coffee, Fruit, Vegetables, Bread!

Many unpackaged shoppers will visit the customer service desk on their way into the store and have each container they have brought from home weighed and labelled. This can become quite tedious when you just want to pop in, do your shopping, and be as efficient as possible. TareWare adds efficiency to the unpackaged shopper's grocery excursion. With TareWare, you can now eliminate the unnecessary step at the customer service desk and confusion at checkout! When you get to the check-out counter with full TareWare containers, the cashier will subtract the container or tare weight and charge you only for the food inside!

You saved a step. You saved packaging. You and your family are eating unprocessed, healthier food. And the world is a better place!

The tare weight is simply the weight the of container. TareWare comes with the tare weight, or the container weight, clearly labeled so that you can bring your TareWare to the store, fill it with your favorite bulk products, and take it up to the cashier. The cashier will then subtract the Tare weight from the total weight, charging you only for the food you have placed inside of the container. 

We recommend purchasing the sticker and affixing it to your own clean reused container. This saves on shipping costs, shipping materials (like the box) and the carbon footprint of shipping glass containers around the country. However, if you prefer, we will be more than happy to find the right sized containers, affix the TareWare labels and ship them to you! We need your help to make sure the TareWare revolution is successful. Please only bring CLEAN TareWare Containers to the store and make sure you affix labels to containers with matching tare weights. 

TareWare will continue to come out with new sizes and weights and new designs. We are also working with food manufacturers to include a TareWare label on their jars and reusable containers. If you sell pasta sauce, or sauerkraut, or beans, why not sell it in TareWare! Add value to your product and it makes a great gift! 

We like the idea of affixing stickers to what would otherwise get thrown in the recycle bin. However, recycling doesn't come in all the shapes and sizes that people are used to when it comes to food storage containers. In the future we will produce a line of recycled glass and plastic TareWare Containers.
